Day 19

Jan 19, 2021

## **TODAY’S SCRIPTURE**
Psalms 19:12-14: Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh! Keep me from stupid sins, from thinking I can take over your work; Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin. These are the words in my mouth; these are what I chew on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar ...

### **THOUGHT FOR TODAY:**
At the beginning of the new year, I want a clean slate. At the beginning of my day, I want a clean slate. As I say I am sorry, I want a clean slate. David's poetic words of the Psalms strike at the heart of the matter... I want a fresh start. I want to be acceptable in God's eyes. David had the same desire. When we read New Testament stories of Jesus healing the blind or those with leprosy, his parting words often to those afflicted were, BE CLEAN. He offers the same to you and me.

### **PRAYER**
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
