Day 20

Jan 20, 2021

## **TODAY’S SCRIPTURE**
Rom 8:26-28: Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

### **THOUGHT FOR TODAY:**
Have you ever found yourself tired in the waiting? I am sure all of us have found ourselves there from time to time. It's the no man's land where your grip on hope is weakening. It's the no man's land where we wonder if we have lost our way and answers are hard to come by? How stunning that this is the very spot, this no man's land, is where God's Spirit is close, alongside us? We typically think this is the place where God's spirit has abandoned us, AND YET, in spite of what we feel, in spite of our anger, in spite of the well of disappointment, HE IS THERE. There are times when, as this verse mentions, we do not know what to pray or have the words. Take a moment, listen to the song, Take Courage. Listen on your phone or read the lyrics. Let these words sink in. If you find yourself in no man's land, take comfort in God's promises in the waiting.

### **PRAYER**
With open hands and heart, we trust you in the waiting Jesus.
