Our Next Step

A big thank you for being flexible in the transition to HCC's new Sunday meeting space at Gig Harbor High School. We are now seven weeks into our 'new normal' and look forward to what God has planned for our community.

A big shout out to our set up crew! They are doing a tremendous job transforming the school into a space for over 600 to meet and worship. Special thanks to our Children’s Ministry Director (Ann Webb), and her team who teach your wonderful children with creativity and care. They are presently re-evaluating new spaces in the facility to enhance the children's experience. We are excited about the possible option to use the main gym as a space for the Kid's ministry to expand.

Additional improvements are underway in the Gig Harbor High School auxiliary gym, our present auditorium, which will provide for an upgraded worship space and streamline set-up and tear-down for our staff and volunteers. These improvements will enable us to replicate the experience we enjoyed in the former Boys and Girls Club setting.

Our next step in this process is receiving permits from the city to get our sound and tech equipment permanently mounted in the gym. This will take place after the electrical load study is completed at the end of October. We anticipate this sound and tech work will be completed in time for our 3 Christmas Eve services.

Moving forward, we are grateful for the task force coming together to explore the development of HCC's property across the street from the YMCA on Harbor Hill. This group is working on a 3-5 year strategy which includes the possibility of building a new facility on the property that would serve the Harbor Hope Center, (providing care and resources to our community during the week) as well as provide for the gathering place for Harbor Christian Center on the weekends. We will continue to post developments on the HCC blog so be sure to stay connected through the HCC App. (Download the App Link)

God is on the move in our region. Thanks for your prayers and willingness to participate as the 'community in mission' called Harbor Christian Center.
