night to shine

What is Night to Shine?

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Launched by the Tim Tebow Foundation in 2014, it has grown into a global movement that transforms Valentine’s Day weekend into a massive celebration of worth and inclusion.

"Night to Shine is a night where we get to tell every guest that they are loved, that they are special, and that they are a King or a Queen." — Tim Tebow

Here is what makes the night so impactful:

The Royal Treatment
The event is designed to make every guest feel like a VIP from the moment they arrive. The experience typically includes:
  • The Red Carpet: Guests receive a celebrity-style welcome with friendly "paparazzi" cheering them on.
  • The Royal Essentials: Each guest receives a corsage.
  • Personalized Fun: The night features limousine rides, professional photography, hair-and-makeup stations, jewelry, and shoe-shining areas.
  • The Dance Floor: A high-energy environment with dinner and dancing, tailored to be sensory-friendly and accessible.

The "Buddy" System
To ensure every guest has the best experience possible, each attendee is paired with a one-on-one volunteer "buddy." This volunteer stays with them throughout the night, providing companionship, assistance, and a friend to hit the dance floor with.

The Crowning Moment
The highlight of every Night to Shine occurs at the end of the evening. Every single guest is gathered together and crowned a King or Queen of the Prom. This serves as a powerful reminder that they are valued, loved, and celebrated.

A Global Reach
While the event is hosted by local churches across all 50 states and dozens of countries, the mission remains the same: to change the narrative for people with special needs. It provides a space where they aren't just "included"—they are the stars of the show.
