DAY 15, January 22nd

AUTHORITY IN PRAYER

As children of God, we have been given authority over the enemy’s snares; let’s grasp it!

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.” —Ephesians 1:18-23 (NIV)

REFLECT ON THE WORD

As overcomers in faith and as children of God, we are to rejoice and fear not! We walk, pray and live as co-heirs (with Christ) who have been given all power and authority over the enemy with the knowledge that our eternity is secure. In the authoritative name of Jesus, our fervent prayers of agreement are powerful and effective, with assurance that what we bind and loose on Earth will be bound and loosed in heaven.

PRAYER + CONTEMPLATION

1. Allow the joy of your salvation and the understanding of Christ’s headship over all things to be the strength of your warfare.

2. Intercede on behalf of someone you know who is far from God, that they might recognize the spiritual battle and come to understand the power and authority of Christ.

3. Ask for revelation of what’s behind any opposition you’re presently facing, take authority over the enemy, and release the promises of God over that situation.
