Moving Forward

I am very excited as we prepare to launch our three in-person services on Easter Weekend at Gig Harbor High School at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 a.m. Our staff and volunteers are working out all the details to honor the phase 2 guidelines and continue to provide a safe and meaningful experience for everyone. It will undoubtedly be great to see many of you back with us!

When you walk into the auditorium, you will see a few changes that provide an excellent environment for our gathering. In addition to these changes, you will also see 2 large banners that will remind us of our mission.

  • “NO CHURCH EXPERIENCE REQUIRED” - This has been our motto since we started in the fall of 1995. Our desire has always been to provide an environment where people who have no church or religious background can have the opportunity to explore faith in God through Christ in a loving and accepting environment. In this new year, I am praying for each of us to consider who we can invite to church with us, and in due time introduce them to Jesus.

  • “LIFE TOGETHER” - If there is anything we have learned about this past year, is relationships matter to us. No time in our history have we ever felt so disconnected from each other as we have this past year. The move towards normal has to include the priority of reconnecting with the people of HCC. We need to efficiently and effectively get back into our small groups and share our lives and faith with our friends. We will rapidly begin this process within a few weeks after Easter.

Until then, here are several action items I’d like you to consider:

  • PRAY - Ask God to move all of us beyond what we consider normal. Ask him to do something new beyond our wildest imaginations in our lives and in our church this coming year.

  • GET INVOLVED - Why not create a new normal for yourself and your family by asking this question: “How can we be generous with our time, our talents, and our treasures so that this community we live in can experience the love and grace of God through our lives?”

Looking forward to seeing you on Easter Weekend, April 4th!
