Thank You For Your Generosity!

The one thing we know about people like you who attend HCC is that you are generous. Whether you give your time by volunteering or donate during ROAD TRIP, or whether you honor God with your regular giving to HCC, your generosity is making a difference.

Several weeks ago, during Thanksgiving, I received this note:

“I am so thankful for HCC and what it has given me over the last 20 years. I sincerely say that because my life has changed. I had great parents who gave me a strong religious upbringing, with which I am very appreciative. But it wasn’t until the first time I attended an HCC service at Goodman Middle School that I heard a talk on GRACE, which was the start of my relationship with Christ. I am still a work in progress, but I know that I am on the right path, and I can’t thank this church enough.”

Because of your generosity, lives are being changed every day by God’s grace.

As we come to our year-end giving season, I want to let you know that we are still on mission, now more than ever. I also want to make you aware of several changes that will benefit your generosity this year because of the Cares Act.

Thanks to federal coronavirus relief legislation, taxpayers can now take advantage of a new deduction in addition to your standard donation deduction— up to $300 for individual returns. This applies even if you don’t itemize, which is favorable news for many tax filers for 2020 only.

Whether you deduct your giving or not may be irrelevant to you today. But I do want you to know that you are making a difference.

Thank you!
